Advocacy

When you join Disability Employment Australia, you become part of a united voice advocating for disability employment services, including Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) and NDIS employment supports. DEA has represented the sector for more than three decades, influencing policy, disseminating research and championing provider interests. 

Through DEA’s advocacy work, members help shape discussions around provider funding, service delivery models, workforce capability and the future direction of disability employment services. 

 

Policy Expertise

Organisational members have opportunities to contribute to policy development and submissions while receiving timely information on changes affecting the sector. Members receive weekly email bulletins, including members-only policy updates and you can meet regularly with our team to discuss policy issues at an organisation and sector level.

Membership Process

Joining DEA is straightforward. 

  1. Express Interest
    Complete our Expression of Interest Form. 
  1. Connect with DEA
    A member of the DEA team will contact you to discuss your organisation, answer any questions and help determine the most appropriate membership category. 
  1. Complete Your Application
    If you decide to proceed, you will be provided with a membership application form. 
  1. Application Review
    The DEA CEO and Board review all membership applications. Applications are typically reviewed within one week of receipt. 
  1. Outcome and Membership Confirmation
    You will be advised of the outcome of your application. Successful applicants will receive membership confirmation and an invoice. 
  2. Access Your Member Benefits
    As soon as your invoice is paid, your membership is activated. Your organisation can immediately begin accessing member benefits, industry support, events, policy updates, advocacy opportunities and professional development resources.

Application Review Process 

All organisational membership applications are reviewed by the DEA Board and CEO to ensure alignment with DEA’s purpose and commitment to supporting quality employment outcomes for people with disability. 

This process helps maintain the integrity of our membership community and ensures members share a commitment to advancing the disability employment sector.
