Lunch & Learn – Understanding FASD in the Workplace

  • 26 August @ 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm
  • CPD POINTS: 2

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disability that can significantly influence how a person learns, communicates, manages stress, and adapts to workplace expectations.

For employment service providers, understanding FASD is essential to delivering fair, effective, and strengths‑based support.

This free session explores the brain‑based challenges associated with FASD, such as memory, processing speed, emotional regulation, and executive functioning, and how these can impact job readiness, training, and sustained employment. Participants will gain practical strategies for adapting assessments, modifying workplace tasks, and collaborating with employers to create supportive environments. By increasing awareness and building capability across employment services, we can improve job outcomes, reduce barriers, and empower individuals with FASD to thrive in meaningful, sustainable work.

Duration: 45 minutes

Format: Online via Teams
