Lunch & Learn – Sensory Workplace Design

In this session, Nicole Done from Xceptional Academy will explore sensory sensitivity in the neurodivergent community and what that looks like in real workplace settings.
The session will cover:

  • How sensory differences show up at work
  • The impact of sensory overload on emotional, physical and cognitive functioning
  • How unmanaged sensory load affects focus, performance and wellbeing
  • Practical ways to support sensory needs across different environments
  • The link between sensory strain, masking and burnout

This Lunch & Learn series is a collaboration between Disability Employment Australia (DEA) and the Centre for Inclusive Employment. Sessions are designed to provide evidence-based information and practical insights to support continuous improvement in practice and the quality of services for people with disability.

 

SPEAKER INFORMATION

Nicole Done, Principal, Neurodiversity Enablement, Xceptional Academy

Nicole is a neuro-inclusion expert, educator, and advisor with over 20 years’ experience across corporate, government, health, education, and not-for-profit sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Special Education and is the Principal of Neurodiversity Enablement at Xceptional Academy, where she leads the design and delivery of accredited neuro-inclusion, psychosocial risk, and inclusive leadership programs. Her training has reached more than 11,000 participants and is trusted by organisations across NSW Government including icare, QBE, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and TAFE NSW.
