Lunch & Learn – Leading for Psychological Safety
Disability Employment Services leaders operate in one of the most complex people-focused environments in Australia. Teams navigate participant barriers, employer expectations, performance targets, compliance requirements, and continual reform, often while managing significant emotional labour. The culture leaders create has a direct impact on workforce wellbeing, staff retention, engagement, innovation, and service quality. When people feel psychologically safe, they are more likely to speak up, share ideas, raise concerns early, learn from mistakes, and remain engaged during periods of change.
In this practical and thought-provoking session, Kelly Mason, CEO of Bounce Global, explores the leadership behaviours that build psychological safety and strengthen workplace culture. Drawing on the BE Model for Psychologically Safe Leadership, participants will learn how leaders can create greater trust, clarity, accountability and support within their teams, while reducing psychosocial risk and building a resilient workforce capable of delivering better outcomes for participants, employers and the communities they serve.
