DEA Roadshow July 2016

To kick off the next stage of the engagement regarding the future of disability employment we are staging a roadshow in July to meet with our members and draw together your ideas and concerns about the current contract and what things might look like going forward. Our roadshows have proved very successful and a significant part of the NDEF consultation.

Our July roadshow will continue the discussion about the future, anticipating key principles that will be explored by DSS through co-design with the sector between August and December this year. DEA is interested to have the sector’s ideas in front of DSS and the new government’s Disability Minister as they enter the co-design process period.

That’s why we are coming out to meet with you. We want the mix of the best DES practices and structures that are currently in place with contemporary disability policy, as stated in the National Disability Strategy 2010-20 and best observed in the NDIS. Our emphasis (based on what you told us in February) is that DES (both ESS and DMS) is a disability policy programme with direct connection to labour market policy.

The DEA Roadshow is free for DEA members!

Please note: A light lunch will be served at each meeting
