In an effort to join local employees with Liverpool businesses, the Liverpool Industry Connections employment forum was held today as a Work Health Group.
During the event, WHG’s Disability Employment Services program was showcased and exposed the benefits of hiring local disabled people to businesses.
“Capable and talented people with a disability should never be overlooked as they may be the right person for the job, especially considering wage subsidies and support from DES (Disability Employment Services) available to employers,” Work Health Group chief executive David Sagar.
“We want employers from the Liverpool area to be successful and find the right staff. We help them to tap into the talent pool, access wage subsidies and Government incentives, and also experience the range of business benefits that come with employing people with disability.
“DES delivers capable staff who are statistically more, productive, reliable, safe and affordable compared to other workers. It’s music to an employer’s ears.”
One in five Australians live with a disability. And atWork Australia’s general manager Michael Kolomyjec said the workplace is changing with employers becoming more open minded.
